Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan has undergone an angioplasty procedure at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Hospital after reportedly being hospitalized early Friday morning. While an official statement from the hospital or Bachchan’s family is awaited, the actor expressed his gratitude through a social media post.
In his message, Bachchan wrote, “T 4950 – in gratitude ever ..”. Alongside the message, he shared a video of himself and his son, Abhishek Bachchan, celebrating their team’s qualification for the finals of the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL).
This marks Bachchan’s second surgical procedure this year. Earlier in January, he underwent surgery for a wrist injury sustained while shooting for the film “Kalki 2898 AD” in Hyderabad. The injury also resulted in a strained rib cartilage and a torn muscle, preventing him from attending the San Diego Comic Con for the movie’s promotion.
Despite his health challenges, Bachchan continues to remain active on the professional front. He is gearing up for the release of “Kalki 2898 AD”, where he stars alongside Prabhas, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani. The film is slated for release on May 9. Additionally, he will feature in the upcoming movie “Section 84”.
