NIA Seeks Public Assistance in Identifying Rameshwaram Cafe Blast Suspect

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has released images of a suspect linked to the Rameshwaram cafe blast case in Bengaluru and is seeking public cooperation in identifying the individual. The suspect, seen in the images wearing a T-shirt with a covered face and carrying a backpack, is believed to have planted a bomb in the cafe on March 1, injuring at least 10 people.

Citizens are urged to call 08029510900, 8904241100, or email info.blr.nia@gov.in with any information regarding the suspect. The NIA emphasizes that informers’ details will be kept confidential. A bounty of ₹10 lakh has been announced for information leading to the identification of the suspect.

The blast occurred at Rameshwaram cafe in Whitefield, Bengaluru, prompting heightened security measures at the establishment, which has since reopened. The NIA, piecing together CCTV footage, identified the suspect as an individual who visited the cafe an hour before the incident, leaving a backpack containing an improvised explosive device (IED) with a timer.

The suspect’s movements, including a change of clothes and travel by public buses, are under investigation. The NIA has previously released a sketch of the wanted individual and continues its efforts to apprehend the perpetrator responsible for the blast.
