Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a two-day visit to Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra, focusing on inaugurating and launching various developmental projects. In Tamil Nadu’s Thoothukudi, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for projects worth ₹17,300 crore, including the Outer Harbor Container Terminal at V.O.Chidambaranar Port. Subsequently, he is set to launch additional initiatives before heading to Maharashtra in the afternoon.

In Maharashtra’s Yavatmal, the prime minister will engage in a public program around 4:30 pm, unveiling multiple development projects exceeding ₹4,900 crore. During the event, he will release benefits under the PM KISAN scheme and other initiatives, as well as distribute the second and third instalments of ‘Namo Shetkari MahaSanman Nidhi,’ benefiting around 88 lakh farmers across the state.

The inaugurated projects in Maharashtra encompass irrigation initiatives for the Marathwada and Vidarbha regions, developed under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana and Baliraja Jal Sanjeevani Yojana. Furthermore, rail projects worth over ₹1,300 crore and road sector strengthening projects will contribute to the state’s overall development.

PM Modi’s visit is marked by a significant political presence, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) highlighting a ‘massive turnout’ at his Tiruppur rally. The Prime Minister, on Tuesday, remarked in Thiruvananthapuram that the joint opposition has seemingly accepted defeat in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, resorting to personal attacks due to a lack of vision for the nation’s progress.
