Bollywood Film “Article 370” Not Banned in Gulf Countries, Sources Clarify Amid Controversy
Contrary to earlier claims, the Bollywood film “Article 370,” featuring Yami Gautam, has not faced a ban in Gulf countries, according to reliable sources. The confusion arose from a previous statement by the film’s public relations team stating that it was banned in certain Gulf nations. The sources clarified that the film is awaiting certification in those countries.
“Article 370,” a high-octane action political drama directed by National Award winner Aditya Suhas Jambhale, explores the revocation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. Released on February 23, the film stars Yami Gautam as intelligence officer Zooni Haksar.
Despite initial concerns that the subject matter might not resonate with audiences, Yami Gautam expressed confidence in the film’s ability to connect with viewers. She emphasized the absence of propaganda in the movie and noted the positive feedback received, especially from the youth.
Produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Aditya Dhar, and Lokesh Dhar, the film also features Priyamani, Arun Govil, and Kiran Karmarkar in key roles. Yami Gautam’s husband, Aditya Dhar, who produced the film, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming response and praised the audience for appreciating the portrayal of real-life struggles in the narrative.
As controversies surrounding the film’s status in Gulf countries settle, the focus remains on its reception among audiences, with the filmmakers expressing their commitment to portraying the historical events surrounding Article 370.
