“Dense Fog and Bone-Chilling Cold Grip Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh; Normalcy Expected to Return After February 6”
In the midst of a relentless cold wave, dense fog has blanketed several districts of Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh, causing disruptions in transportation and daily life. The biting cold has seen temperatures plummeting between 3-5 degrees Celsius in various regions, affecting normal activities. The freezing conditions have led to delays, cancellations, and disruptions in aviation, road transport, and train operations, inconveniencing travelers and residents alike.
The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for dense fog and cold wave in multiple districts of Punjab, emphasizing the need for caution. Low visibility due to dense fog and low clouds has exacerbated the situation, creating challenges for commuters.
The adverse weather conditions are expected to persist until February 6, after which a return to normalcy is anticipated. Clear and sunny skies are forecasted for both Punjab and Haryana from Tuesday onwards, with temperatures gradually increasing. Chandigarh is expected to experience clear weather with temperatures ranging between 11 to 15 degrees Celsius, while Amritsar may witness light cloud cover with temperatures forecasted between 8 to 15 degrees Celsius.
In Jalandhar, Ludhiana, and Mohali, light cloud cover is anticipated, with temperatures varying from 9 to 18 degrees Celsius. Mohali might experience a chance of rain alongside the prevailing fog. The weather forecast signals a gradual improvement in conditions, providing relief from the current bone-chilling cold wave gripping the region. Authorities urge residents to exercise caution and stay informed about the evolving weather situation.
