Munawar Faruqui Responds to “Fixed Winner” Accusations After Bigg Boss 17 Victory
Munawar Faruqui, the recently crowned winner of ‘Bigg Boss 17,’ has addressed speculations surrounding his victory, dismissing claims of being a “fixed winner.” The comedian clinched the title on January 28, beating out tough competition from Abhishek Kumar, Mannara Chopra, Ankita Lokhande, and Arun Mashetty.
In an exclusive conversation with IndiaToday.in, Munawar expressed his uncertainty about the alleged favoritism, stating, “I always thought I had a 50-50 chance as Abhishek equally deserved this win. This tag only sounds very fixed.” He emphasized the role of audience love, acknowledging the support that propelled him to victory. “It is their good wishes and support that have helped me come so far. I am so thankful to them,” Munawar shared.
Reflecting on his second reality show win after ‘Lock Upp’ in 2022, he called it a “deja-vu moment” and attributed his success to his followers. Munawar acknowledged his journey’s challenges, stating, “Fortunately, I had strong shoulders and hence I could carry the weight and bring home the trophy.”
The grand finale, held in Mumbai, saw Munawar take home a cash prize of Rs 50 lakh and a brand new car. Abhishek Kumar and Mannara Chopra secured the first and second runner-up positions, respectively.
