In a momentous occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ rituals today as the Ram Mandir was inaugurated in Ayodhya, marking the homecoming of Lord Ram after 500 years. The unveiling of the idol of Ram Lalla, adorned in gold and emerald jewelry, was met with immense joy and reverence.
Prime Minister Modi, alongside RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, conducted the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ in an 84-second ‘muhurta,’ symbolizing the consecration of the temple. The atmosphere was charged with religious fervor as the Prime Minister entered the temple a few minutes before the rituals commenced.
Prominent figures from various fields graced the occasion, including Bollywood icons Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif, and Vicky Kaushal. Cricket legends Sachin Tendulkar and Anil Kumble, as well as business tycoons Mukesh Ambani, Nita Ambani, and Isha Ambani, were also present. Rajinikanth, the legendary actor, added to the grandeur of the event.
The city of Ayodhya was bathed in festivities, resonating with ‘Jai Shri Ram’ chants and adorned with posters of Lord Ram. Indian Airforce helicopters showered flower petals over the Ram Mandir premises, adding a touch of spectacle to the celebration.
While the occasion was marked by unity and jubilation, it was noted that BJP veteran LK Advani could not attend due to extreme cold. Opposition parties, invited to the event, declined participation, citing concerns of politicization.
