Three Schoolgirls Seeking BTS Encounter Found in Vellore, Returned Home Safely
In a heartfelt journey driven by their passion for music and adoration for the global sensation BTS, three 13-year-old schoolgirls from a quaint village in Karur district embarked on an unexpected adventure to meet their beloved K-pop stars in Seoul, South Korea.
Setting off on January 4, the determined trio undertook a train journey from Erode to Chennai, with aspirations to board a ship from Visakhapatnam to their dream destination. Despite their earnestness and modest savings of ₹14,000, they encountered hurdles when attempting to proceed without passports.
Their journey took an unforeseen turn when, at Katpadi railway station during a brief stop for food, they missed their train. Prompt action from vigilant authorities, including police and Child Line authorities, ensured their safety and well-being.
Placed under the care of the Vellore District Child Welfare Committee, the girls received counseling sessions along with their parents, where the significance of education and prudent utilization of technology, especially smartphones, was emphasized. Their ardor for dance and music, influenced by BTS, was acknowledged while also imparting guidance to prioritize education in achieving their aspirations.
Recognizing the challenges within their family backgrounds, efforts were made to encourage parental involvement and support, particularly for children with working mothers and specific familial circumstances.
After counseling and necessary arrangements, the children were reunited with their parents and departed for their home district on the night of January 6. The incident serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of guidance, education, and parental involvement in nurturing youthful aspirations.
