Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Shekhawat declared a groundbreaking initiative during the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, unveiling an 85% subsidy on farm drones for Women Self-Help Groups (SHGs). This move aims to empower women in agriculture, offering training to efficiently utilize drone technology for spraying chemicals and seed sowing, significantly reducing input costs.
Speaking at Jajjal and Sandoha villages in Bathinda district, Shekhawat emphasized the transformative potential of drones in curbing chemical usage, fostering a new green revolution in Punjab, and safeguarding soil health. Additionally, the promotion of nano fertilizers emerged as a pivotal step in preserving groundwater and ensuring farmers’ well-being.
Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, this initiative strives not only to bolster agricultural efficiency but also to empower women in rural communities. Shekhawat highlighted various government welfare projects and urged support for the BJP, emphasizing its pro-people policies.
