The Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) anticipates an electrifying Davis Cup showdown at the Islamabad Sports Complex on February 3 and 4. As preparations intensify, the PTF eagerly awaits final confirmation from the All-India Tennis Association (AITA) regarding the participation of players and officials in the upcoming World Group 1 play-off tie.
President Saleem Saifullah stated that the AITA has submitted a list of 11 officials and 7 players for visa processing, expressing hope for their presence pending official clearance. The proposed contingent includes prominent figures like Anil Jain, Anil Dhupar, and team captain Rohit Rajpal, alongside seven players.
Recent reports indicated that the AITA has reached out to India’s Sports Ministry for guidance on the team’s travel to Pakistan. While awaiting the green light, the PTF remains committed to facilitating a successful and competitive Davis Cup event, fostering sportsmanship and camaraderie on the international tennis stage.
