In response to the alarming data breach incident, Delhi Police has swiftly taken action, apprehending four individuals involved in the theft of sensitive information from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). The suspects, hailing from varied regions, confessed to not only accessing personal data of over 81 crore Indians but also claimed to have infiltrated databases of international agencies, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Pakistan’s Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC).
The collaborative effort between Delhi Police and central intelligence agencies led to the arrest of these individuals, who admitted to their association forged through an online gaming platform, motivated by financial gain.
