Netflix’s latest viewership report for January to June 2023 showcases a significant surge in non-English content, constituting 30% of total viewing. Among the top 1,000 titles, nine Indian narratives captivated global audiences, exemplifying their widespread popularity.
Topping the charts, Rana Naidu Season 1 secured the 330th spot, followed closely by Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga at 395, drawing in 41.7 million hours of viewership. Mission Majnu and Indian Matchmaking: Season 3 claimed the third and fourth positions with 31.2 million and 30.6 million hours, respectively.
Highlighting the diverse storytelling landscape, Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway starring Rani Mukherjee secured fifth place with 29.6 million hours. Notable mentions beyond the top 1,000 include Scoop, Gumraah, Khakee: The Bihar Chapter, and Trial by Fire: Limited Series.
This ranking underscores the growing global resonance of Indian narratives, with Delhi Crime Season 1 at 3,682 and Sacred Games: Season 1 at 4,536, further solidifying their impact.
