Mizoram witnessed a historic moment as Lalduhoma, the eminent leader of Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM), took oath as the state’s Chief Minister, marking a significant departure from the traditional political landscape. In a ceremony held at Raj Bhawan in Aizawl, Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati administered the oath of office and secrecy to the 74-year-old former IPS officer-turned-politician.
Lalduhoma’s ascendancy marks a watershed moment, being the first non-Congress, non-MNF Chief Minister since the state’s inception in 1987. Alongside him, 11 newly elected MLAs from ZPM were sworn in as cabinet ministers, symbolizing a collective commitment to steer Mizoram towards progressive governance.
This historic transition holds promise for a new wave of leadership and governance in Mizoram, ushering in hope and determination for a brighter future under Lalduhoma’s visionary leadership.
