Cyclone ‘Michaung’ Alert: Coastal Regions of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu Prepare for Heavy Rainfall and Winds

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for the northern coast of Tamil Nadu and the southern coast of Andhra Pradesh as cyclone ‘Michaung’ gains strength in the Bay of Bengal. Expected to make landfall around December 4 evening, the cyclone, currently a depression, is projected to intensify into a cyclonic storm.

Managing Director of the Visakhapatnam-based Cyclone Warning Centre, Sunanda, stated, “The low-pressure area has intensified into a depression, set to further escalate into a cyclonic storm within the next 48 hours.” Anticipated to bring heightened rainfall and strong winds, residents are advised to take necessary precautions and stay updated with official advisories.

Authorities urge coastal communities to stay vigilant, heed safety instructions, and monitor local news for updates as the cyclone progresses.
