Uttar Pradesh District Administration to Build Mini-Stadium and Gym in Mohammed Shami’s Hometown
Following Mohammed Shami’s stellar performance in the ICC World Cup 2023, the Amroha district administration announced plans to construct a mini-stadium and an open gym in Sahaspur Alinagar, the village of the ace cricketer.
District Magistrate Rajesh Tyagi confirmed the proposal, emphasizing the intent to honor Shami’s outstanding contributions to Team India. Shami’s remarkable skills propelled India to the World Cup final, prompting support from Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) leader Jayant Singh, advocating for funding to facilitate the sports facility’s construction.
This initiative underscores the recognition and support for sports development in rural areas, aiming to nurture budding talent and provide infrastructure for aspiring athletes.
