In honor of the revered Chhath Puja, the Delhi government has announced a special measure for Sunday, November 19th. Recognizing the significance of this auspicious occasion, all liquor vends across the city will remain closed as a mark of respect for Surya Shashti (Chhath Puja).
Chhath, a cherished festival among the communities from Eastern UP and Bihar residing in Delhi, holds profound cultural significance as devotees gather to worship the Sun god. To facilitate the festivities, the government has meticulously arranged over 900 ghats for devotees to partake in this spiritual celebration.
This directive from the Excise department underscores the government’s commitment to honoring religious observances and facilitating a conducive environment for the faithful during this important occasion.
