Google, in partnership with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and the National Centre for Seismology (NCS), Ministry of Earth Sciences, proudly announces the introduction of its Android Earthquake Alerts System in India. This highly useful feature, first unveiled in 2020, harnesses the power of Android smartphones’ built-in accelerometers to provide early earthquake warnings, significantly enhancing safety measures across the country.

Google’s Android Earthquake Alerts System empowers users by leveraging their smartphones as miniature seismometers.
